Interview with UCLA Professor-Emeritus Archie Kleingartner for the UCLA Emeriti Association. Prof. Kleingartner describes his early childhood in North Dakota, his military service, and his path in higher education to an appointment at UCLA in what is now the Anderson School of Management. He describes being chair of the Dept. of Management, systemwide vice president for personnel, chair of the UCLA Academic Senate, founding dean of what is now the Luskin School of Public Affairs, chair of the Human Resources Round Table, and other activities related to China and other matters.
